BIG ONE

Sunday, January 09, 2011

dennisbigfishWe live to fish. And when you live to fish for Bass you dream about catching BIG Bass. Double digit size Bass. BIG Bass this size are very difficult to catch. When you do catch one it is such an honor and it gives you a great since of pride. I have only 1 fish over 10lbs in my record book. My friend and Team tournament partner Dennis Kolender has several over 10lbs in his. Dennis added another on Sunday January 9th, 2011. Just over 10lbs on the dock scale at El Capitan. Congratulations brother!

New Year

Thursday, December 30, 2010

IMG00023Well 2010 is done. It was a good year for me and my Family but not without some losses too. I fished alot of Tournaments, Guide trips, and attended several events including ICAST. My kids are growing quick. Hannah loves being on the Boat with me. Macie is soon to follow her big sister. Jackie's Baby/Toddler business did great in 2010. We are super fortunate for Jackie to be able to work from home and she is a great Mom. It's not easy.....the balance of work life is difficult. TomLoweryFishing had a good year and cool things are happening. My website is getting hit alot, the phone is ringing, and Sponsors are coming on board. I will be announcing a new Sponsor soon. I am fishing many tournaments this year including the WON BASS US OPEN at Lake Mead in July 2011. I want to thank my Family, Friends, and Sponsors for all the support. Many things are in the works for TomLoweryFishing and I look forward to growing in 2011. Without the growth it is hard to do what I love.....and that's FISH!

Happy New Year!

Lake Otay - Captain Clowers Report

Monday, December 20, 2010

Just when you thought it was time to hang it up for the year at Otay....think again. My good friend and fellow Guide Alan Clowers had a great day out at Otay last weekend. Greeted by cold rainy conditions he launched around 8:30am. First stop on a Main Lake Point produced 2 3lb+ bass on the drop shot rig. He pick up buddy Chris Patek and they continued to wack em throught the day. Worms fished slow 15-25ft produced all the bites.

Oh Sweet Carolina

Thursday, December 09, 2010

crigIt may just be my favorite thing to throw. You can fish it year round and at all depths. It's not a difficult technique. I have won a lot of money with it. And the best part is....it catches lotsa fish and often BIG fish. We call it...."The Carolina Rig". I know we have all been obsessed the last couple months with the "reaction bite" fishing and chasing those schools of feeding bass but before you can say "spring" the bass will be looking down. The Carolina Rig is simple and effective.

Jigs in the Summer?

Sunday, August 15, 2010

That's right.....JIGS! There is a pretty good jig bite at El Capitan right now. The Bass are on the shad big time right now so you may be asking yourself why are they eating the jig so good? It has long been known that jig fish are typically quality fish. In a lake full of 13 in fish (El Capitan) putting 16in fish in the livewell can often win the tournament.
